2021 Marnie Eistetter Training Meet

Format Decision Announcement

The SAS Board recently met to discuss the competition format for 2021 MM.  The Information Package emailed on October 6, 2021 set out possible options. SAS Board and Staff have the identical goal of doing what is best for the athlete and after some discussion among Board members and further meetings with Staff, the decision is to go with a new option!  We are all getting used to COVID changing our plans, right?

The revised format is:

  • In person figure meet held as planned in Saskatoon and Regina on November 27.  The difference is that the athletes arrive at the pool, compete and leave the pool. The intent is all athletes from all clubs hop in the pool together for warm up then line up by age group and draw number and swim their figures. Pool time will be approximately 2-3 hours at each location. Figures will be videoed and judged on December 11 (as already planned).  Of course, those clubs or athletes that do not want to attend the in person competition can still video their figures and mail them to SAS. Please let Taya know by the registration deadline of October 27 if the club is sending figure videos for judging.  There will be no camp on this day.

  • A virtual camp will be held in the morning on Sunday, November 28.  The change from in person to a virtual camp allows more athletes the option to attend and has the added benefit of having the same clinicians for all athletes across the province. There will no banquet this year. 2020-2021 Award recipients will be announced at the virtual camp and at the AGM.

SAS appreciates your willingness to adapt and carry on!
