COVID-19 and Upcoming SAS Events

2020 Sadie Caulder Knight PS Championship Cancelled

In light of the developing situation with COVID-19, the Saskatchewan Artistic Swimming Board and Staff held a special meeting last evening. Please click here for the letter sent to the membership. Full text is also shown below.

Dear Members,

As I am sure you have all heard, the situation with COVID-19 is growing rapidly as more and more cases are being confirmed across the country. Given this situation, Saskatchewan Artistic Swimming held special Board & Staff meeting last night to discuss our upcoming events.

Sadie Caulder Knight PS Championships (SCK) are scheduled for April 17-19, 2020 in Regina, SK. After reviewing national public health safety guidelines, Canada Artistic Swimming guidelines, and much discussion and deliberation, the Board decided to cancel this competition. We understand this is very disappointing, however, to preserve the health and safety of our athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers, and spectators, we felt this action is necessary.

Canadian Prairie Championships (CPC) are scheduled for April 30 to May 3, 2020 in Winnipeg, MB. To be eligible to attend CPC, Saskatchewan athletes are required to compete both figures and routine at SCK. Due to the cancellation of SCK, any Saskatchewan athlete who wishes to attend CPC will be granted a bye. All other decisions regarding CPC are made by Manitoba Artistic Swimming.

We are currently reviewing possible actions for the High Performance Trials and Planning Session scheduled for May 23-24, 2020 in Saskatoon. We will share decisions regarding these events as they become available.

We appreciate your patience and understanding while we make these difficult decisions to minimize the health risk to members and families of Saskatchewan Artistic Swimming.

Sincerely,
Lenore Lindquist
President, Saskatchewan Artistic Swimming Inc.
