Athletes
Saskatchewan Artistic Swimming athlete awards are presented at the Annual Recognition Awards Banquet held in conjunction with the Marnie Eistetter Figure Meet.
All names submitted are checked for eligibility to other categories and awards such as SaskSport and Canada Artistic Swimming. The recipients of the Athlete Recognition Awards are decided by the Nominations and Recognition Committee.
Most Improved Recreational Athlete
An athlete who demonstrated the most significant improvement over the past year, taking into consideration how many Stars the athlete has passed in the past year; which Star level the athlete attained by the end of the season; how long the athlete has been in artistic swimming; and why the nominator feel that the athlete is “Most Improved”. Attitude, team spirit, flexibility and fitness are also taken into consideration and should be included in the submission.
Most Improved Provincial Stream Athlete
An athlete who competed in the Provincial Stream category and has demonstrated the most significant improvement at the Provincial Level over the past competitive season beginning September to May/June. Competition results must show evidence of improvement. Attitude, team spirit, flexibility and fitness are also taken into consideration and should be included in the submission.
Most Improved National Stream Athlete and/or Junior/Senior FINA
An athlete who competed in the National Stream and/or Junior/Senior FINA category and has demonstrated the most significant improvement at the Provincial and National Level over the past competitive season beginning September to May/June. Competition results must show evidence of improvement; however, attitude, team spirit, flexibility and fitness are also taken into consideration and should be included in the submission.
Duet or Team of the Year Award
A duet or team who has shown the greatest commitment to the sport. Attitude, team spirit, flexibility and fitness are also taken into consideration and should be included in the submission. Duet or team may be Recreation, Limited Competitive or Competitive.
Recreational Athlete of the Year
An athlete who has shown the greatest commitment to the sport, although may not be the most successful. The athlete must be able to overcome obstacles in a positive manner and display all of the “best” aspects of the sport of artistic swimming in the Recreation category.
Provincial Stream Athlete of the Year
An athlete who has shown the greatest commitment to the sport, although may not be the most successful. The athlete must be able to overcome obstacles in a positive manner and display all of the “best” aspects of the sport of artistic swimming in the Provincial Stream category.
National Stream Athlete of the Year
An athlete who has shown the greatest commitment to the sport, although may not be the most successful. The athlete must be able to overcome obstacles in a positive manner and display all of the “best” aspects of the sport of artistic swimming in the National Stream category.
