Synchro Saskatchewan Establishes Partnership with the Foodbanks of Saskatchewan

Synchro Saskatchewan ‘officially’ launched our NEW Partnership with the Foodbanks of Saskatchewan at the Diane Lemon Meet this past Saturday (this was 2 years in the making). $535 was raised through a 50/50 draw over the weekend that will be presented to the Saskatoon Food Bank and Learning Centre. Media coverage was obtained thru Global TV and the French CBC TV news both Saturday and Sunday as there was a synchro routine demonstration from our own Team Sask athletes performing their 2015 Canada Winter Games routine.

Ken Melvin (SS Board Member who spearheaded this initiative) was on the Friday am Global Saskatoon Morning News in an Interview jointly with Laurie from the Saskatoon Foodbank. You can view the interview at

Many clubs have already had events involving and benefiting their local food bank with others planned for the future. All will be posted ongoing on Synchro Sask’s web site and facebook page.

“Thanks very much to Laurie and Deborah (from the Foodbank) for their tremendous support and assistance to getting this initiative and exciting partnership up and running. There are a ton of fantastic opportunities for local synchro club and their members along with their local foodbank to learn and grow together and I look forward to being involved in some of these exciting events in the years ahead’… said Ken Melvin.
