Saskatchewan Synchronized Swimmers Medal at the Canadian Masters National Championship



 Aubrey Swift and Cathy New celebrate their success at the Canadian Masters National Championship in Calgary.

 

Saskatchewan Synchronized Swimmers bring home a Gold and Silver medal from the Canadian Masters National Championship held in Calgary from June 13-15, 2014.

Aubrey Swift captured the Gold medal for the Solo Free Championship in the 20-29 age category. Aubrey had a final score of 65.8766 ahead of second place competitor from Vancouver Masters Synchro with a score of 60.3166. Cathy New secured the Silver medal for the Solo Free Championship in the 50-59 age category. Cathy had a final score of 65.2467 just points behind the gold medalist and former National Team swimmer from the Calgary Aquamums Masters Club.

Aubrey and Cathy are both members of the Regina Synchro Club where they started as young athletes and swam for many years acquiring a number of medals in competition during their athletic career. Both later became coaches and also returned to the pool to compete as adults.

Aubrey is excited to finish her season on a high note with this success. Cathy will move on to compete at the FINA World Masters Championships to be held in Montreal, July 27th- August 10th, 2014.
