The 2017/2018 Canada Games Provincial Team Selection Process Update:

 

The Canada Games Team Selection Process is based on the established Provincial Team Selection Process. As such, the athletes qualify for the team via a series of tests held throughout the 2017/2018 Competitive Season to reflect the overall ability of the athlete.

 

Event #1 of the 2017/2018 Canada Games Provincial Team Selection process has been completed and results sent to coaches and their athletes. Swimmer performed the five Junior Team Technical Elements.

                                                                          

Event #2 takes place at Diane Lemon Invitational in March where each swimmer will swim the first two laps of completed Canada Games Team Routine.

 

Event #3 which is the final event will take place at June HP Program Selection Event. This testing includes:

  • Basic Body Positions
  • Routine Skills testing
  • Water Fitness testing
  • Core strength and Flexibility Testing (Land)

 

The Canada Games Team size will be ten athletes including alternates. Swimmers 11 and 12 (born in 2007 or earlier) will be invited to train along with the Games Team in all 2018 Summer training camps and at the Oct ‘18/Jan ’19 HP Camps. There will be two duets and two solos formed from within this group.
